There are three broad classes of elements: metals, non-metals, and semi-metals.

Metals

  • Solid
  • Good conductors of electricity
  • Ductile
  • Malleable

Non-metals

  • Brittle
  • Poor conductors

Semi-metals (Metalloids)

  • Partially conduct electricity
